Why geotargeted influencer marketing changes the outreach game

It’s no secret that influencer marketing works because of the relatable and relevant content created by real people who are trusted by their audiences and communities. Personalisation plays a huge role in this as every brief will be interpreted differently by every influencer, adding in their own thoughts or experiences. When a campaign is geared towards specific communities living in certain areas, geotargeting tools come in handy. Using this in collaboration with local influencers in the area, ensures that a brand’s content is consumed by the right people at the right time…driving personalisation even further.

TikTok joins the SAMA28 family as the official entertainment partner

TikTok announced its partnership with the 28th edition of the South African Music Awards to bring music fans an experience like no other for this year. The music awards show have also launched their TikTok account @thesamas_ which will no doubt keep fans and supporters updated with content relating to nominations, teaser content leading up to the awards evening; as well as all the news on the night. Yet again proving that it’s important for brands and movements to be visible where its audiences lie and lean into new ways of reaching their fans.

In this episode we’re in conversation with Beatrix Fourie. At the time of recording, she was Operational Specialist at Telkom Business ZA.

She describes herself as a result focused Digital Marketing ops specialist with an understanding of the digital ecosystem (owned, earned and paid). She has a proven ability to drive sales through quality lead generation, customer retention, increase brand awareness, improvement on brand engagement and increase positive sentiment on social media and other online platforms.

We chat about using influencers not only to influence audiences, but also to gain insight and refine product offerings, how she uses nano influencers to drive education; her strategy behind deciding which influencers to use on campaigns; and how nano influencers garnered 3.9 million views on a campaign!
