Influencer marketing is impacting the real estate industry
Buying a home is a big decision and it’s not only about square meterage, the neighbourhood or the price tag that comes with it. Choosing a home is choosing where to make memories for the next decade, if not longer, choosing a haven from the outside world. The new generation of home buyers are looking for much more than just a viewing from a real estate agent and because of this many are turning to doing things a little differently. This is where the real estate influencer comes in. Their goal is to give their audiences a feel for the location and home from an insider’s perspective. These influencers are the locals in the neighbourhood.
Niche influencer marketing has been on the rise and it makes sense that consumers want the opinions from those whose already experienced a service or used a product, and in this case, lives in the neighbourhood.

TikTok is now rolling out its Snapchat-style stories to more users
TikTok is following in the footsteps of other social media platforms by testing the option to post Stories. As with others, these Stories will disappear after 24 hours. The only difference, and perhaps a bad decision on their side, is the absence of a scrolling bar to view the Stories of those who users follow.

CreatorIQ’s and Tribe Dynamics survey shows that 66% of brands spent more on creator marketing in past year; and that 52% noted that their creator marketing teams have expanded to support this growing trend. Brands are increasingly shifting budgets to creator-driven marketing campaigns. The trend is not only international, but we’ve seen similar shifts in the local South African market. Brands are taking influencer marketing seriously and witnessing the impact it can have on business objectives.
