I think we all know that influencer marketing is nothing new, it just keeps evolving. This is an interesting article that takes you from the 1700s when a pottery designer got the Queen to be an influencer on his brand; to the 1980s where sports stars were all the rage; and the 90’s “it” girls who dictated everything from what we wore, ate and even the slang we used.

Why TikTok is increasing the length of video uploads

TikTok is yet again increasing its length of videos that can be uploaded. Initially users could only upload 15 second videos, then it was 3 minutes; and now it’s set to be 10 minutes. Why is TikTok going against the popularity of short-form video content? In this article it’s speculated that:

  • It will give creators more flexibility and time
  • There will most likely be bigger advertising tie ins
  • Like with YouTube, there’s the potential for a revenue share for creators
