TikTok reaches 1 billion global users

TikTok reached a massive milestone of having 1 billion monthly active users. That’s no surprise as the social media channel was one of the best performing in 2021. One of the reasons for this is that TikTok is all about being real and authentic, which means that the majority of content is relatable to its audiences. Other reasons are that there is a niche for literally everyone on there and videos aim to entertain or educate. This bode well for audiences during the pandemic when the entire world was looking for community and connection.

This article explores the top 5 trends in 2021 that helped it achieve its milestone.

5 social commerce must-haves for 2022

The days of choosing not to be on social media as a brand is over. These platforms have evolved from being channels for only organic and paid content for the promotion of products and services to now being set to be where most people will also purchase these. It’s all about convenience – audiences don’t have to click out of one platform to another to purchase and this shortens the customer journey, which inevitably leads to more sales.

This article looks at the 5 social commerce must-haves for brands this year. It’s okay to start with some of these this year and build on it in future.

The changing face of influencer marketing

The influencer marketing industry has grown over the last couple of years and the article below by Jhene Nel, head of sales at Webfluetial, she examines the changes she experienced personally. She talks about the channel moving away from purely FMCG brands, having the ability to measure results in real and meaningful ways, content vs distribution; and how creative is still king!

This article discusses the above in a bit more detail.
