Retailers are pushing their employees to become TikTok influencers

Employee advocacy is proving to be popular on TikTok for many retailers. It’s quite simple – employees post about their day to day jobs to create awareness of their companies to the public, and in return earn perks depending on their position on internal leader boards.

It should come as no surprise that casinos have joined the list of industries including influencers to their marketing mix. Casinos are using influencers to showcase the different games as well as spread information on promotions and COVID-19 regulations to vast audiences.

ARB requires adverts and commercials to follow COVID-19 regulations

The ARB has ruled that adverts and commercials should encourage correct COVID-19 regulations. This comes after investigating a claim against a FlySafair ad that showed actors disregarding COVID-19 regulations. The Board cited that ads cannot support illegal activities or contain dangerous practices. This makes one wonder if influencer content will have to adhere to the same regulations in the near future as they influence audience’s behaviour. Can influencers be the secret to getting mass audiences to adhere to rules because influencers are doing so?
